The Quakecon.org website has finally announced the registration date for Quakecon 2008. If you plan on attending and playing in the BYOC (lan area) then you will need to be ready for registration as soon as it is available.
Registration is April 30th at:
6pm PST (Pacific) - 7pm MST (Mountain) - 8pm CST (Central) - 9pm EST (Eastern)
2am GMT (UK) - 3am CET (Netherlands)
Spots for the BYOC go fast, couple days, within hours or within a day. So be sure to mark your calenders and set an alarm so you don’t forget to be ready to register.
Last years Quakecon was bigger and had more vendors than in the past and this year Quakecon is expecting even more vendors. (SWAG!) Head over to Quakecon.org for more detail on registration.
Team EH plans for Quakecon 2008:
Some of us are planning on attending Quakecon 2008 so if you are going, post in the comments to let us know. We would love to have any fans and friends to come hang out and sit with us in the BYOC, if we can find enough space. We met some of team AFZ last year (pictures) and we are going to try and sit together in the BYOC this year and do some gaming, partying, game of ass grab and who knows what else.

First week download numbers are in and it’s a shocking ~8464 downloads. With EH2 we saw just a little above 5,000 in the first week. Perhaps we should all get wasted and try to do some tricking to celebrate? No? Could make for some funny bloopers for EH4. Anyways thanks guys for all the downloads and comments!

Happy New Year to everyone!
To bring in the new year we’ve given the website a much needed face lift. However I’m sure there is still some bugs to work out and what not, so let us know if you notice anything broken and we will get our surgeons on it. If you haven’t been here in awhile, check out the old site in the picture on the left.
I know you all will ask about the status of EH3 so here is the latest.
Unless a meteor rains down on Ebola or his computer EH3 will be ready to go this month. I can’t imagine EH3 not getting released this month but if it doesn’t I’ll be sure to let Ebola know you guys have your torches and pitch forks ready. We are just as eager as you all are so if it gets to that point we will bring the torches.
I’ll try to get some screenshots from him to tie us all over in the meantime.

Merry Christmas from all of Team Event Horizon.
Today is the teams 3 year anniversary from when me and nebuLa started Event Horizon on September 12, 2004.
Thanks to everyone that has come by the #tricking_eh irc channel or messaged us to wish us happy birthday. Without the fans and friends we’d probably not still be alive as a team and pushing to get more content for more and more movies, so thank you!
So far we haven’t decided on what we are going to do to celebrate but we have decided that if we do something, like a shoutcast steam/show, it will be this weekend. So check back to find out what we plan to do if you would like to participate. However feel free to come by the #tricking_eh channel on the irc.enterthegame.com network and chat with us. We may do something small tonight but you’ll have to be in the irc channel to find out.

Our bithday is coming up next week, Sept. 12th, and it will be our 3 year Anniversary. So we are trying to figure out what we should do. We could throw up a shoutcast stream and do a show and play some music, take calls or whatever ideas you guys have. Give us some ideas other then “release EH3,” because we are going to try to do that but we’re not pushing the editor for that. We just want EH3 release in September.

Me and sp4rky would just like to notify everyone that the release date for Event Horizon 3 has been pushed back to September. The reason for this is to fix various errors in the Quakecon beta release and add the remaining content to the film. Ebola, with Temporal Productions, had to work on a tight schedule in order to release the beta video for Quakecon 2007; so that is why various tricks were excluded from the film. The feedback from the Quakecon viewers were positive but the team and I thought a few things needed to be fine tuned. Anyways, hopefully by the release day, we can provide a more finished product.
September is Event Horizon’s 3 year anniversary, this also played a role in moving EH3 release to September.

It’s long, I know but hang in there and then give us some feedback.
Changes:
The team is working hard to meet a demo deadline for an upcoming project we announced earlier this year. Event Horizon 3 which will be premiered at Quakecon 2007 live by RadioITG if all goes well.
There have been some concerns/worries among the team and myself that the short time frame we have for getting demos is going to cause Event Horizon 3 to not be all that it can be. May 15th (4 days from now) is the demo deadline for the team so we can send the demos over to Temporal Pictures to give them enough time to edit EH3. Most of us are in school and have been busy with that until recently and has caused some of the team to not be available to trick with until this month. When we decided to take on this opportunity for EH3 we were well aware of all of this. Despite all of this we were ready and hopeful that we could pull it off.
Now 4 days from the demo deadline we have some killer content for EH3 but not enough to make a good length video (10-15 mins). We want EH3 to be a hit and for people to really enjoy it and like I said we’ve got some really nice content and we’re still working on content. As I am typing this the team is in the server working on landing a trick for EH3, and its 5 AM. Anyways, we either had to go with a shorter video or shoot for a 10-15 min. video and add some single tricks from the team members.
We have always done team tricks only for the videos because that is what this team was put together for, but at the same time we have some really good single tickers. We have also gotten comments about how people would like to see some singles tricks mixed in. Tonight we had a meeting about what we wanted to do with EH3 and it was decided that it was a ‘win, win’ situation to add some single tricks in to EH3. However, EH3 will be a majority of team tricks.
With that news out of the way I just want to mention a few things:
I just want to say how impressed and proud I am of this team.
We don’t just meet in a server and land tricks and then go our ways. We talk to each other on a daily basis by chat, voice conference, and we’ve met at conventions. We’ve all gotten to know each other over the years but never did I think when the team started in 2004 that we would one day all seem like family to each other and be very close friends.
Why I am saying this is because there has been some tension between us all for the past couple of months because we have all felt stressed and have literally wore our patience thin working on getting the content for EH3 in time. As a result there has been some snipping and disagreements and even some distancing. What would normally break a team up didn’t, the team just worked it out. The teammates literally sat down and talked about what the issue was and apologies were made and things we’re learned. I speak about them but I myself am just as guilty at times. What has impressed me most is that these guys don’t have to put up with a thing. They could easily say “I’m done” but they don’t because they are all like family to each other and they do this because they love to see people enjoy the finished product. They don’t seek glory or fame they just want to please the people watching and make it an awesome experience.
I’m done with my sap moment but I just wanted you all to know just how dedicated and focused these guys are on making things enjoyable for you.
It is truly awesome to lead a team like this.
